I have a Nissan Micra 1.4 SVE with keyless ignition.?

i have great difficulty turning the ignition on, sometimes it seems to come up against a stop and i have to try many times before it works and other times it works first time. Do i need a new switch barrel (very expensive) or could it be something to do with the solenoid on the brake pedel. Any Nissan mechanic's out there.
PS I've tried WD40.
 
Steering wheel lock sometimes interfer with turning the key. BY moving the wheel side to side a bit while trying the key that may allow you to start the car easiler. Lock lubricant has graphite WD-40 will wash out the lock. Use LOCK EASE or something for locks.
