    Ideas for Lake Tahoe trip?

I'll be visiting Lake Tahoe April 10-14. Any suggestions on things to do, where to go, how much money things cost (ofcourse cheper the better), any deals, etc? I've never been there and want to experience the best of Tahoe! I might make a day trip to Reno too, so once more any ideas?

I think we are staying in South Lake Tahoe. I'm renting a car and driving up from South Cali.

with only 4 days to expore tahoe, leave reno out. there are casinos in tahoe too, so theres really no need.

the lake, kayaking, hiking, biking, or snow boarding, sledding, skiing depending on weather. it really depend on what part of the lake you're going to be. You can drive around the whole thing in about 4 hours, but thats actually a ways, so what town are you staying at, or at least North or South lake, Ca or Nv?

There will still be snow, so that's most of it--skiing, snowboarding, snow shoeing, etc.

They have a tram that goes from the casinos in South Lake Tahoe to the top of the Heavenly Valley ski resort...a long time ago, my best friend and his wife got married at the top during the summer...as beautiful a view of nature as you'll ever see...

Also, South Lake Tahoe is like a mini Vegas/Reno, with casinos and shows and such...

You could also rent some mopeds and ride around the whole area, go boating on the lake, hiking in the woods, rent a cabin with a jacuzzi and make sweet love all night long...(also...North Lake Tahoe is the "setting" for the T.V. show Bonanza's Ranch...very scenic, as well...)

No worries...other things will suggest themselves to you when you get there...(I grew up in Sacramento, so I'm very familiar with the area, having been there a million times snow skiing...also Squaw Valley is really cool...)

Well, I happen to live in Reno, and I'd recommend that if you are renting a car and flying in (you'd be flying in to reno/tahoe airport) then I'd stay in reno and just drive up to Tahoe for the day. Tahoe is going to be very expensive to get a hotel versus staying in Reno. Plus, from Reno to Tahoe is only about 30 min, give or take.

I would visit Stateline (that's where you will find all the casinos) and just take a walk down the stretch, they have a bunch of lil stores and restaurants. Incline Village would be a nice place to go to (all these places are around the lake.) They have horseback riding ranches, sporting shops, little look out places and stuff like that. If I were you, I would just make a day out of driving around the WHOLE lake. It seems like it would take forever, but it really doesn't. You'll come across some beautiful little areas and it's a very beautiful drive. Good Luck!
