Where is a good guide for the android game gem miner?

I recently downloaded the paid version for the gem miner: dig deeper game on the android market but the makers did a sorry job instructing players on how to use some of the items or what the different purchasable items are used for. Does anyone know a good guide for this?
Specific questions:
How to use the saw?
How to activate the beacon?
Are there any drills or pickaxes able to cut through stone?
And then a description on every item...

This is exactly the same problems/questions I have with the game! I bought it a week ago and can't use my beacon or saw either. I saw a few forums that said something about if you press in the center of the screen, any wooden object on your left will disappear, but that has never happened to me. And, Ive never seen any instructions for the beacon. I just wasted 3 of them trying t use them.

There really DOES need some kind of reference guide that includes that info or what else are they good for.
