Sony Ericsson Vivaz - Problem receiving texts?

I got a the Vivaz about 2 months ago, and i noticed today that it no longer notifies me when i receive a text. Instead i have to check my inbox every once in a while on the off chance that i have. Has anyone else had this problem, or does anyone have any ideas how to fix it?
