Why does U torrent keep stopping and showing the message "Not Responding" in the...

...midst of downloading? When a file is downloaded in U Torrent it frequently gets the "Not Responding" message and needs to be restarted in order to continue the download. It takes forever for even the smallest file.

My first guess are you running Comcast for an ISP?

Comcast has again resumed its policy of disrupting torrents and other P2P software connections regardless of what you are downloading, open source software, home movies, free operating systems, or public domain images, and wallpaper collections.

There are many reason to use torrents i am always seeding Linux Operating Systems and my own personal 1920x1080 created wallpaper collections. I must encrypt and change my torrent ports continuity or I have slowdowns. One day the exclusive contracts with the restrictive providers will be broken and rates will comedown, and speeds will go up in America.

Every month new announcements about Europe and Asia getting 1 GB internet speeds for what we pay to receive 10MBps. If you talk to any of the overseas users, they laugh at Americas slow internet speeds and hate visiting here and being forced to use our slow internet speeds.

I would suggest checking your internet connection speeds as you might be on a node that is far below what you are paying to receive. I use DSLreports.com/speedtest because it lets you archive a few of your your results, and look at others users results in your zip code. You might test often to verify your speeds when it feels slow, or quick to see if there is a speed variance in the time of day, or week.

Zip code archives <--fill in your zip code to see what service and speed other in your are are receiving. this is also good if you thinking about moving across town, or other side of the country.
