I have a Dell Inspiron with hdmi output so is at as simple at connecting the two via hdmi cable or is there settings I need to configure being watching?

Can I watch hd/blue-ray quality movies on my tv from my laptop?

i can do it on my windows 7 laptop without messing with anything. if you do have to change settings, it would just be changing your resolution or something on that same graphics screen. also, if you buy an hdmi cable, get it online. you can get them for like $5 on amazon as opposed to like $40 or $50 at best buy. the quality is the same.
