My grand father is applying for Canadian visa. I am helping him and I am stumped by the question 12 or 14 it is the same question on some forms it is on different lines but 12 and 14 are the same.

“12e (on our form)

Have you or any member of your family ever:

Applied for ANY Canadian Immigration visas?
(e.g. Permanent Resident, Student, Worker, Temporary Resident (visitor), Temporary Resident Permit)

Here is where I am stuck. My mother and I did apply for visas when we moved here some years ago and now we are citizens and my grandmother who also applied for visa just passed away.

So who is considered as his family. Am i his grand son or his daughter (my mother) are family that will apply to this question. Or will his wife only is his family and does she apply since she is deceased?

I have two options to answer this question: NO/Yes and if yes explain.

But if I say yes how far down the family line do I have to explain. My grandmother, my mother or to me. I have an aunt who also live here but I don't even know what is here story. Or who else from my family ever applied for visa that I don't even know about.
