Are you a "closet Astrology freak" or are you out in the open about your interest?

Some people seem to frown on those of us who are "into astrology" as if we're trying gain knowledge to steal their souls or something, you know? So, do most of your friends (outside of the internet) know that you're interested and knowledgeable of Astrology? Or do you keep this "dirty little secret" to yourself?Great reply rhio9. I think it is very interesting how sometimes your description of your sign can be dead on. But others times it is not. I think it's all in good fun and should not be taken TOO seriously as this branch of science or as some would call it, "pseudoscience" is not entirely accurate

no im very open about it, and yes most people who don't understand look at me crazy but they are usually interested in learning about it since I like to share my knowledge. whether or not they ask me too for fun i try to guess people's signs and im usually right, this makes for good conversation.... my favorite question to as is "whens your birthday? " ive gotten every single one of my friends hooked on astrology now they'll be like " yeah so i went on a date with the effin aquarius and you know what he did!?!? " or " what do you expect she's a pisces"hahaha

My friends know, trust me. We joke about it a lot. They always give me that kind of quiet "I wish she would get off of that" type vibe when I try to discuss astrology with them all while having a polite smile on their face and nodding every few seconds like they're interested. I know they're not too into it though so I try to keep it to a minimum with them out of respect. Besides, it's not really an interesting conversation if all parties involved aren't enthusiastic about it. My mom, on the other hand, is more into it than I ever realized. Any time I bring up a certain sign she's on it right away. So basically everyone knows about it but I only discuss it with those that are into it as much as me.

Yeap, I know exactly what you mean. I never volunteer my knowledge of it unsolicited. Mostly because I get responses like, "I didn't know you were a witch doctor!" Plus I've noticed that some people get really offended when they feel they've been sized up and judged. Some people get really upset at the notion that they aren't an "individual" or that their life has been "pre-written" for them. But astrology is more than that. It can describe two very different people within the same guidelines. Neither person loses their individuality, yet both can learn some insight on their own tendencies or personalities. I mostly only reveal it to my good friends or to waitresses to get free drinks.

I'm in the open about it for the most part, but I do keep the extent of my interest to myself sometimes for the sake of my sanity. I'm not interested in being the person that everyone goes to every single time they've got a teeny little decision to make. Been there, done that (not with astrology, with tarot) and it wore me out. So there are certain people who don't really know a whole lot about my astrological interests, not because I feel it's a "dirty little secret", but because I am also into self-preservation. You're just full of questions tonight, aren't you?

I am open with it to everybody except my mom. She stops talking to me whenever I bring up something that requires critical thinking and tolerance. My other friends and family see it as a little bit of trivia I know.

Yes most people know but unless they broach the subject I don't really talk about it. I do not seek to convert people. Usually they discover it upon inspecting my bookshelves but I have other interests anyway.There was a period I must have been really annoying speaking about it all the time I guess. I have calmed down a lot since. I am not obsessed about it like I used to be (although it is always in the back of my mind anyway).Also I noticed how other people bore their friends/acquaintances/families to death when they started to talk about their pet subjects :sport, politics etc and just won't shut up, therefore I also realised that I was making the same mistake.I talk about it with people who are also interested in it but I share other interests with other people.
