There are also lots of government jobs in SA since there is a large military presence, so civilian workers are needed. Don't overlook searching government job websites. You will find that SA is very service oriented, so many people who are educated in a liberal arts field end up taking jobs that they would not have to in another city. If you have a specific technical skill or trade, it will be about equal to other TX cities.
