how is ice cream made/?

Basically, you mix together eggs, sugar, and cream. Then you put it in a very cold (frozen) bowl, and keep stirring it. You let it sit just long enough that the liquid touching the frozen bowl freezes, and then you stir it so that new liquid is touching the bowl and has a chance to freeze. This is repeated over and over until it's all frozen. :)Vanilla Ice Cream Recipe (see link below for other recipes)5 egg yolks2/3 cups sugar1 cup half and half2 tablespoons butter1 cup whipping cream2 teaspoons vanilla extractBeat yolks and sugar until blended. Pour in top of double boiler. Stir in half and half. Cook and stir over boiling water until thickens. Set aside - stir in butter. While cooling on a rack, stir occasionally until room temperature. Stir in whipping cream and vanilla. Freeze according to manufacturers directions.

The answer above is spot on. Different flavours are created by simply adding them to the base recipe above. I made a great peanut butter choc chip the other day by simply adding 5 tablespoons of peanut butter and 1/2 cup chocolate chip to a recipe similar to above.
