I need a topic for an essay?

I was going to write about the homeschooling controversy in California, but it seems as though nothing has really changed--no new laws or anything. So, my essay has to be about a political, educational, or religious ISSUE (not problem) if anyone has any ideas please tell me.and if anyone could verify that I'm not cheating, just asking for suggestions, that would be cool =-PThanks in advance!

Well, there is an educational religious issue that is always being brought up. Prayer in school. or teaching evolution vs. creationismIt is very hard to cheat when you are writing the paper.

You want to make your topic somewhat vague so you can write a lot about it. You could do politics and abortion or immigration. Also, how those with a second language obtain equal education in this country. There is actually alto about this. I just did a paper on methamphetamines and had a ton to write about. That could be a political and educational issue.
