What's the best (free) way to convert my divx files to AVI?

I'm trying to watch these video files on my xbox 360 and i need to convert them into avi format. Is there a free program that will do this without putting a banner on my video?

"They have a piece of software (and it’s completely FREE!) that is able to on-the-fly transcode many video and audio formats into WMV format suitable for the Xbox 360. As it is playing in WMV format from your PC over the network"

Check the link below for a "review" of sorts and an installation guide.

Its a free program that quickly enables you to covert to avi. It has a simple interface that does not have a lot of features. Only to convert and that's it.

DivX refers to the codec which is responsible for encoding and compressing the video stream; avi is a container which holds the compressed video stream.

In any event, try Super. It's freeware

If you are using a Windows system, try VirtualDub. http://www.virtualdub.org

It is free and can convert between many formats. I use it all the time.
