FeedGhost has open sourced some of its components. This is according to their newsletter dated March 10, 2008. The most recent one being the Super list control. FeedGhost is a product offered by BinaryComponents a UK-based Custom Software Solutions Company.
But what is FeedGhost? According to the company website:
FeedGhost is a powerful yet easy-to-use RSS Reader for Windows XP and Vista. It features a stunning modern look - glossy toolbar, glowing buttons - yet makes reading dozens or hundreds of feeds fast and easy.
BinaryComponents designed and coded the entire application, and provides support for users

And the reason why certain components are being place in open source? Company Director Lee Alexander in the email wrote:
As part of our longer term strategy we’re releasing (for free, no strings attached) the source code to most of the controls that we developed for FeedGhost. This month’s featured component is the Superlist list control written from scratch in C# / WinForms; we use this component in FeedGhost for the article lists in the outlook style mode. It’s highly customizable, can handle thousands of entries as well as support for sorting / grouping features. You can find more information by going to our company site at www.binarycomponents.com navigate to the “labs” section via the “about” page.
Interesting.
