Yes, it’s only March, but golf has given us more than a couple of bad moments so far in 2008. Among these are:
  • Golf Channel’s Kelly Tilghman Mispeaks. - Sure, I should let this go, but I’m still annoyed at public figures speaking before they think — Ms. Tilghman included.
  • The PGA Cut Rule Debacle. It seems that the PGA and the players have reached a compromise that works for all, but it took two months and a lot of confusion to get there.
  • John Daly. The veteran golfer’s theatrics during the first three weeks of the season made us wonder if the former champion had seen the last of his playing days. He seems to still be having troubles. Let’s hope he gets his act together (or gets the help he needs) soon.
  • Tripp Isenhour Charged with Animal Cruelty. Simply unnecessary and bad for golf.“Golfweek” and the Noose. More irresponsible golf journalism.
Here’s hoping for less “bad” golf stories in the months to come.
