    Our science teacher argues that Christianity or any religious beliefs are bad for

    scientific progress? How do I stop her religious preaching?

    She said science is always being attacked by religious ideas.

    Umm well the history of christianity has been to hinder scientific progress. Take a look at the Middle Ages, also called the "Dark" ages.

    Even today, people don't want evolution taught in schools because it doesn't fit with the whole,"god created everything..." story. Evolution happens everyday. It's happening right now. It's absolutely true, and you can go research it for yourself. It's because of people who try to stop or lie about scientific knowledge, that your teacher acts that way.

    If you go to a public school, I would file a complaint. That is how you stop her preaching.

    Your teacher is also ignorant of what she teaches. The overwhelming majority of scientific research leading to breakthroughs were done by scientists who were Christians.

    Example: The Big Bang Theory came from a scientist who was also a Catholic Priest.

    Before the Renaissance the Church limited science amongst the lay faithful because of the dangers it brought towards the Church. In fact during the Dark Ages the Church considered science as a form of satanism. There were about 3,000-5,000 people tortured and killed during the inquisitions, but there is no exact count how many people actually died and if it involved science. The Middle Ages the Church generally imprisoned those that used science. The reasoning behind this is that the Church felt people were not ready to believe in something other than Creation. Now during the Renaissance the Church opened their doors to science, philosophy and art. What many people don't realize that the Church is the irresponsible for Heralding in new ideas during the Renaissance.

    If you think the bible is enough of God's word, you're right;
    it's enough to send you to hell.

    Even prominant religious people say that religion and science are their own seperate entities that should not be mixed.

    It's not necessarily anti-religious, it just shouldn't be mixed.

    "To assert that the earth revolves around the sun is as erroneous as to claim that Jesus was not born of a virgin."

    I had the same issue with a teacher. I think you just have to let people think what they want to think.
    Perhaps you should file a complaint that atheism is being taught in schools . It is recognized as a religion by the Supreme Court in the US.
