Many moons ago we saw Puyo Puyo 2 on the ESRB list, which is the Sega Genesis version of Puyo Puyo Tsuu. While Sega released an incarnation of the Puyo Puyo series on the Genesis, Puyo Puyo Tsuu was for Japan only. Later this month it arrives in North America as a virtual console import priced at the standard 800 Wii Points for a Genesis title.

In the announcement Sega mentions “an intriguing backstory”, which suggests the story mode will be kept in the North American version. But wait, wasn’t that in Japanese? Actually, Puyo Puyo Tsuu has lots of Japanese menus. Is Sega… localizing a virtual console game?
