Zach Randolph has missed games recently for the New York Knicks due to a sore foot. Recently, Randolph flew home to Indiana to tend to some family issues.
While the sore foot doesn’t sound overly serious, combined with the family issues and the Knicks ugly season – there’s a chance that Randolph gets shut down in the coming weeks. The Knicks can mathematically make the playoffs but even if they do, they’ll be quickly eliminated.
Randolph hasn’t quite been what Isiah Thomas wanted when he traded for him. He hasn’t been especially bad but the chemistry went from bad to worse with Randolph on the team.
If Randolph comes back and plays, he should be his same fantasy self. If he misses extended time, that should benefit a couple Knicks – specifically Eddy Curry and David Lee. Curry is a bad fantasy player to begin with but he’ll play much better without Randolph in the way. Lee is the real prize. If he gets extended minutes, his numbers should make him a valuable fantasy player.
