(n3 - n2 - 9) - (n4 - n3 -5). The letters by the number are actually squared that way. I just didnt know how to type it like that. THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!
 
(n^3 - n^2 -9) - (n^4 - n^3- 5)
first, get rid of the minus sign between the 2... to do this, use the distributive property..
2nd part will be: (-n^4 + n^3 +5)

(n^3 - n^2 -9)( -n^4 +n^3 +5)

now combine like terms
n^3 +n^3= 2n^3
-n^4
-n^2
-9+5= - 4

= -n^4 + 2n^3 - n^2 - 4
(write in descending order of exponents)
