Is divx a safe download?????????????

i keep getting a message to download for movies and i want to know if there a safe web site or a safe download please help!!!!!!!!!!!!! P.S do i have to pay to down load it because there was to links one that said free download and one that said buy divx just asking just in case

If you open the file with VLC media Player and it still nags you to download something then it's not a good idea to get the divx codec from their link. As Vlc Plays Divx files without issue
