Why wont my ps3 play blue ray movies? Plays games just fine?

Bought my first 2 blue ray movies popped em in, showed up on the screen and selected to play it, shows a clock in right corner and then goes to a black screen. Why wont it play movies? Plays dvd's just fine as well. i have an HDMI cable hooked up

It's the slim ps3 120gb btw, got it a week before it was released. So its relatively new.

You may need to reset your video settings ! It could also be a parental control issue as well ! The default code is "0000" !

Go to Settings > Video Settings > [BD 1080p 24Hz Output (HDMI)] and select "On"

Accessing Parental Control Go To > Settings > Security Settings and make changes there !

you need to go to settings and go to the video settings or something like that and go through that, if that doesn't work you should return it and get a new one
