Can you change a wind zone 1 mobile home to a wind zone 2 by adding additional...

...strapping or any other means? I have a wind zone 1 mobile home that I want to move to a wind zone 2 area. I cannot buy another home and I only 3 1/2 years on this one. Can I strap or set up similar to modular to allow me to have my home in a wind zone 2 area?

No, you can't. If you find someone who doesn't care and will move it for you anyway - believe me, there are plenty - the state will inspect the home after setup and will not approve it. I has more to do with insulation and construction standards than setup. Here is a website that may be of more help: www.hud.gov/offices/hsg/sfh/mhs/prod01.cfm
