If I go to AT&T with a broken iPhone 3G will they give me a brand new 3GS?

If I go to an AT&T store (with my service info ready) and tell them my iPhone 3G has broken and they look at it, then realize its beyond repair, will they give me a brand new iPhone 3GS?

I want to possibly trade it in if thats possible but i dont want to brake it on purpose...

Even if its the product..
