i havent ridden my bicycle in ages, i got it out and the front wheel wont move forward. it moves backward sometimes when i push the bike backwards. the front brake handles are loose, and can be clamped in and out. but some brake things seemed to be clamped firm on the wheel. how do i fix this?

it might not be the brake.
but if it is the cord is probably stripped, you'll have to replace that.
hope that helps.

just spray the center of the brake clamp with some wd 40 and pull the brake shoes off the wheel.. do this several time to work them loose . that should fix your problem . if there is no slack in the brake cable you will need to lube the inside of the brake cable or replace it .
