Wow, congrats! Book signing tour.. every writer's dream!! Not wanting to use a plane since 9/11 sounds kind of paranoid. Some of us hail from countries where bombs are going off every now and then - so we don't stop going out of house.. think about it. But I'm sure you can use one of the greyhounds too..

The law says you HAVE to fly.

some people are just waaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy too stupid to be walking around loose.

Talk to your agent or publisher, since they should be the ones organising it. With only two weeks to go, they should've told you whether they'll be arranging transport, or whether it's your responsibility. If it's your responsibility, you can get there however you want, as long as you're on time.

Flying is the safest way to travel, because it's so heavily regulated. The trouble is, when it goes wrong, unless you're close to the ground, everybody dies, and there's nothing you can do to save yourself. Our risk-avoidance mechanisms, honed on the plains of Africa by running away from lions, don't cope well with the low risk of great harm. There are courses you can take to reduce your fear, and I would recommend you try one.
