i'm a sophmore and i made the basketball team this year. last year i got cut. but there are cuts on monday. so im worried. we had a game recently and we have to more games tomorrow and the day after. i didn't play this game because of dentist. everyone on the team doesn't even talk to me. they are the "popular" crew and im just there on the team. there are 13 people. and i only talk to 2-3 of em. i feel im not part of the team. so in the game tomorrow im nervous cuz its my first game playing organized basketball. i never played before. and i feel less confident because i dont feel part of the team. what should i do?

What I learned from high school basketball is that you need to TRY HARD. Until monday, do your best, hustle your hardest, and try to impress the coach as much as possible. If you're doing a drill, and you don't quite get the drill, so you're just kinda standing there, the coach will really think "gee, this guy can't be on the team, he can't do the drill!" Make sure you look like you know what you're doing on the drills, and overall in practice/games. As for you're teammates, I'm no expert at that kind of stuff, but I suggest you listen to them for a little bit, kinda get a sense of who they are (if you don't know already), and once and a while, say something that they would like. For example, if they're talking about a basketball game on t.v. last night, that you saw, and they say something like "I can't believe he missed that shot!" or something, then you would just kinda add in "ya, his feet were totally off balance." People like when you know what their talking about. saying that his feet were off balance makes you seem like you know basketball (or whatever their talking about) pretty well. It will impress them.
