got a kvt-512 outta a salvage yard and it asks for a 4 digit code to unlock it. is there some sorta of master pin/reset code?

nope that's the anti-theft and as far as i know it can't b bypassed........u might can call kenwood and get some help but most likely u wasted ur money....
