    Converting A Large Mkv. File To A Smaller Size Divx Or Xvid File ?

    i have a mkv file which is a high quality movie in my hard disk . its about 6.5 gb in size . i have video converters installed in my pc . i want to convert this mkv file to a smaller size (700 mb - 900 mb) avi (divx or xvid) file . what are the best settings to use with my video converter to convert this file ?

    guys i already have so many video converters installed in my pc that does the job but what i need to know is what are the settings i need to use to convert it to get the best results eg:- xvid or divx / resolution / audio quality / video bitrate etc.
