If I download a blue ray rip movie can I play it without blue ray drive?

Ok so if I download a blue ray rip of a movie can i play it without a blueray drive? since I'm downloading the files onto my computer directly not to a dvd so I wont need to read any disk? or does my computer have to have a blue ray drive still?
