Why won't BitTorrent download files for me?

I downloaded the program, and my friend came over and used my BitTorrent for the first time. He downloaded an entire album and a concert to my Mac just fine. It downloaded within an hour. I tried to use it though, and I don't know if I'm just not selecting the right type of file... but it's not working for me. Everything is stuck at 0.0% progress. So I know my BitTorrent works, but what am I doing wrong? Thanks!

There are probably no seeders (peers with the entire file).

probably no ones seeding, look at availability in bittorent, if its under 1.000 you not get the whole file untill someone comes back online to seed

That happens to me as well, my reccomendations are get 'Transmission' client instead works better than Bittorrent.
What website did you get the files from?

i recomend Btjunkie or IPtorrents better selection
and download faster.
