-how old are they when they started gymanstics
-how flexable do you have to be
-how starong do you ahve to be

well imnot an expert but it seems the shorter boys and girls seem to do better than the tall ones. nastia luikin is an exception. you need to join a gymnastics school with great teachers, preferably with gold medals to their name. flexibility and strength will be developed at the school. i think shawn johnson started when she was very very young, possibly before the age of 6

Most elite gymnasts started when they were between 2-3, but not all of them.

All gymnasts are extremely flexible and very strong. Gymnasts could easily pass the physical tests of the Navy SEALs.

Also, to correct the other information, Nastia Liukin is not tall. No female gymnasts are tall - they just look that way or get talked about that way. Tall for gymnastics is over 5 feet, and the tallest elite gymnast is Svetlana Khorkina at 5' 5".

So short, strong, flexible, and an early start are all good things to have, as well as mental discipline and a bit of a love for risk-taking.

the youngest to get gold was shawn johnson.you have to be pretty flexible.you don't rely have to be strong, but it might help.
