Ok.. I know probably sound stupid but can I burn an cd w/a movie that is xvid.avi and it will play on my dvd player... Or do I need to do some kind of conversion???

If you want to play your videos on any normal DVD player, you should burn standard video DVD from your videos, you can try RZ DVD Creator, it can create NTSC or PAL DVD, it can create standard video DVD from any movies, it can directly convert and burn any videos to DVD(DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD-DL, DVD+DL, etc), such as avi to DVD, xvid to DVD, etc.

It can burn multi videos to one disc, and can auto fit the size.
Work well on my computer, easy to use, following is a step by step guide about DVD creation:

Hope it can help you.

No it won't. Not on a normal dvd player. The only device that i know of capable of playing .avi media(divx format) off a cd is the ps3 and the pc. Xbox and ps3 can do it off a media server as well.
