a female colleague asked another female colleague if their male colleague who...

...is currently on vacation is gay? Now the female colleague reported the asking female colleague to the manager. Could she be in any trouble? There was really nothing more said.

It is not the asker's business but I'm not sure why the incident was reported. The company may have a strict privacy policy.
    In trouble, don't know.

    That sounds like a riddle.

I don't think wondering if someone is gay would get you fired. Saying hey is so an so a fag, they should watch their back might get you fired. It depends on the delivery and the intention.

its a way of sexual harassment done by women.
spreading a rumor to tarnish someones reputation.
like when a male manager calls a woman honey to belittle her.

She might be told to mind her business and be more professional but no if it wasn't done in an insulting way.
