my new home dvd player supports divx and xvid format.can it play .mkv files.how can i get the best resolution.should i convert it .avi or x.264.what is best .mkv or .avi for home dvd player (divx ,xvid supported).please illaborate and help.most movie i down load 300mb .mkv format.
 
As you DVD player can support DivX and xvid format i.e so it should be able to connect through computer via HDMI cable. Now you can use computer to update DVD's players software.
 
the best converter is MEDIACODER (any format convertor with ur own creative video and audio settings).... its a free software, u can download it thru searching by google.......try it.........
