not necessarily. your phone settings have to be set to store your contacts on the sim card. if you have the correct settings it will work. most of the other data wont be saved on a sim card and you may need to use a micro sd card if the sidekick uses those im not sure if they do. if you have pictures you must save you could email them to your address and save them to your computer although that process might take a while. honestly though i wouldnt get the blackberry flip. you probably have t-mobile so i would go with the new myTouch google phone since it is pretty much the most advanced phone they have and you dont need to upgrade your plan to get it since you already have internet.
