Was Jesus Christ a vegetarian?

I am wondering if Jesus was a vegetarian, I am one and all of my friends say that I am not holy for being one since God put animals on the earth to eat. But did he know the cruelty behind it? What do you think?
Certain types a vegetarianism allow the eating of fish.

No Jesus ate fish and likely he also ate lamb since the Passover required lamb.

Colossians 2:16 // "Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day."

He knew the cruelty that could result, that's why there were laws given about the slaughter of animals. I think it would not be so cruel if those laws were followed.
