They have a damn fast bike in the Crossbones model, with a killer look. I would consider that more sporty than some of the so called sports bikes. I drive a Honda now, but even I can see and appreciate the Crossbones.

No I wouldn't buy a Harley sportbike. I wouldn't buy a Harley, period. They're overpriced, and they seriously under-perform, when compared to their less expensive competitors. The only reason to buy a Harley is because the pack mentality has you brainwashed into thinking it's a form of patriotism. If that's your idea of wise decision making, go for it.
Harley doesn't want to upset the apple cart so to speak... So they do what they do best just rehashing the same bikes that they have made for past 100 years. I guess they really stick to their guns or they really value the old motto: If it ain't broke don't fix it! Anyhow they don't make sports bike the closest thing they have is Buell and I have a lot of respect for Buell. They make a great naked bike!
HARLEY DOES MAKE SPORT BIKES......THEY HAVE BEEN FOR YEARS.......http://www.buell.com/en_us/
No, it takes years of development to end up with performance bikes such as the Suzuki Hayabusa, Yamaha R1 or Honda CBR.
Harley do not make fast bikes, Their engines are miles away from the performance of the Jap machines. The harley chassis is years behind that of the competition. Harley simply do not have the know how to develop a sports bike at this present time.
