I allow it and get hateful missives from leftist thugs who can't spell or construct a sentence almost daily. That might be why many of my conservative friends don't allow it.

The main reason users don't allow email, contacts to be revealed or their questions and answers to be made public is you get some crazy people on here attack users by digging up old answers and question that they have discussed to bully them.

People get fed up of being harassed so they won't reveal their email and keep their questions private.
