Hp pavilion dv6 help with bluetooth?

i recently got a Hp pavilion dv6 and i wanted to know if i can transfer files such as music or pics from laptop to my phone through bluetooth. The bluetooth light is on bt my laptop wont find my phone, yes bluetooth on my phone is turned on bt it wont find it any help?? idk how to work the bluetooth on my laptop
