What is scarier than dogs?

I have a room mate who does not want a dog. The rest of the household (7 total) wants a shiba inu puppy to be loyal, obedient, and to protect HER daughter. Her only reason that she doesn't want a dog in the household is the fear that her daughter will be bitten and has kept her daughter away from dogs for this reason. On the other hand, she let's her daughter run around the house and jump on everything, including running around the house and jumping on furniture. She actually believes that a dog is more dangerous than climbing on a tv.

Now, I'm looking for either actual documents that have been either published on the web, in a magazine, or anything else for proof that dogs are not scary.
