How do I tell my future college roommate, I don't want to room with him anymore?

Well, I'm an incoming college freshman. I met a guy a couple months ago on facebook and we had a lot in common, so we decided to become roommates for freshman year. We requested one another. Recently, I met a guy I have a lot more in common with and he doesn't have a roommate and I think I'd like to room with him. Should I? How do I go about telling the first guy I don't want to room with him anymore? I feel bad, there's only a month before roommates get sent out.

and If you havn't met either of them in person, then you don't know who's better, the first guy could turn out to have a better personality anyway.
