Lol, whoever told you this is mis informed, and most likely a 360 fan boy! The ps3 wouldn't give up its blue ray, which makes it the one of a kind entertainment system. Also, as others have stated, the ps3's games are blue-ray based, which means they can't be played without the blue ray player. All the more reasons to get a ps3!

No way. All PS3 games are made of Blu-ray disks, and most of the upcoming games (coming out in 2010) are going to be Blu-ray disks. No way they would remove it. That would not only affect the sales of the PS3 (meaning they will decrease), but it would also affect the games.
