Hitler gave his design to the head of Daimler-Benz, Jakob Werlin, and stressed its importance. "Take it with you and speak with people who understand more about it than I do. But don't forget it. I want to hear from you soon, about the technical details."

The job of designing "the peoples car" went to Ferdinand Porsche - who came up with a rear-engined, air-cooled design.
 
Ha,ha, Well I believe Hitler may have had some Desire to have a cheep peoples car built, but I don't think he was an engineer like the ones who made the VW, and I think if General Motors were asked by the President to build a cheep car, their designers could, but it's all about making profits for them and their share holders, so they would have to know what would sell and make a profit.
 
Hitler Seized VOLVO as he did all the Businesses in Germany--nay sayers are too ignorant to investigate what evil Hitler and Mussolini did-by nationalising companies.

Obama couldn't find his buttock in the dark with both hands.....and look at how badly he ran Illinois.
Imagine his ineptitude in business with a huge Auto biz.

Hitler did influence the production of the Volkswagen. He wanted a more fuel-efficient working man's car.

I could see Obama sounding off about the same thing; there's nothing wrong with it unless he lends billions of dollars of federal money to the car companies and tries to influence them to do his bidding......I hope he makes them red, it's my favorite car color.
 
That is a lie. Hitler did not write the specs for the VW.

The President does not have that authority.

Hitler gave them those specs because he wanted them to build him military cars by those specs. He wasn't trying to regulate production standards for civilian vehicles.

Obama should give them better specs than what they are operating on now. If the slants can build a fuel efficient car, why shouldn't we?
