would that be 1 half cup of butter? or 1 cup plus 1/2 cup? can somebody help pls? Thanks for those who would try to clarify this.
It means 1 stick of butter and a half of 1 stick of butter.
The easies thing to do is just remember 1 1/2 cups of butter it would be 3 sticks, 1 cup is 2 sticks, and 1/2 cup is 1 stick.
But if the recipe is calling it 1 1/2 stick than that's it use 1 stick and a 1/2 of a stick.
A full stick of butter and then half of another.
1 stick of butter is equivalent to 4 oz
a stick and a half is 6 oz
There are 4 sticks of butter in a pound or 16 oz box
1 stick butter is equal to 8 Tbs. which is equal to 1/2 C.
Therefore, 1 1/2 sticks butter is 3/4 C. butter.

the butter is in quaraters of a pound. a quarter of a pound is 1/2 cup of butter. one and a half sticks of butter equals 3/4 cup of butter.
why not look at the wrapper on the butter? it is usually marked in tablespoons, quarter of a stick or 1/8 cup, half of a stickor 1/4 cup, and half cup markings.
