How do I get my Dish network remote control to work the volume on my Sony Bravia TV?

Sony TV codes: 500 514 609 619 622 521 578 629 690

Press and hold the desired mode button (about three seconds) until all mode keys light up, then release.
Use the number pad buttons to enter the three-digit number corresponding to the equipment. The light will blink off after each digit is entered and then return to a steady light.
Press the POUND (#) button. If the code entered is valid for the remote, the mode light flashes three times.
To verify the code works, try several functions for that equipment

thanks splash, i used codes from dish's site, 500 worked for me. i had some swanky remote that just light up bate ate batteries like a mother

After I hold the tv button and wait for all four light up. After I release the tv button it blinks about 35 to 40 times and turns off. What does this mean? When do I type the code in? I have tried the codes and nothing so far. Thanks for your help.

I have a Sony Bravia KDL-32L5000. No codes supplied anywhere (DISH, Sony, plenty of web searching) can get the DISH remote to work the Bravia TV. Any suggestions? Appreciate any help
