for the most part they are safe, use piratebay for your search and only download from trusted users (they have a scull, green or purple). you should be fine with other ones as well but you might not want to risk it.

yeah, i've been running limewire and downloaded a lot of songs, and downloaded a few games off utorrent, just don't download that seem suspicious and just get a good anti-virus to make sure, most people are scared to download stuff, but who the hell is gonna pay a dollar a song off itunes, but yeah i haven't got any problems, if u do, just run system restore.

download utorrent and a tunneler plus an antivirus (avg is good! NORTON BLOCKS JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING ON YOUR COMPUTER!! DO NOT DOWNLOAD IT!!! Its worst then vista! )
That way your computer should be safer from viruses.

Not always. I recommend gettting an anti-spyware/firewall program with active scanning, such as McAfee. I download torrents all the time, but if there is any infectious material, my program kills it before it has a chance to infect my PC. For the most part though, torrents aren't all that bad. Just make sure you have protection.

limewire can cause viruses, but it slows down a computer, especially an old one. the new edition of limewire is better on new macs or something BUT NOT on PC's.
