The places you get torrents from are safe but any torrent downloaded carries the chance for being infected with any number of things. Once you download a file Isolate it and do not open it until you scan it for viruses. Once it is cleared by your anti-virus you can then open it.

Utorrent is a safe player. btjunky.org is a good site to get the torrents from
they usually dont
there free but alot of the torrents are copyrighted so dont get caught with it
