Bruce Lees fighting stance and syle is very different to an MMA fighters...

...which is more effective and why? Im talking about in a street fight! I know its a bit like comparing apples to oranges because MMA has rules to abide by which make it less effective!

But just hypothetically speaking is the way of the intercepting fist more effective
    or
The whole muay thai stand up then a take down get a dominant position and submit/pound more effective?

    Discuss
Just a point to make - MMA was popular after Bruce Lees time do you think he would have changed his fencing stance and style to better accomidate BJJ/MMA or would he have rejected it as being ineffective on the street?
Another point is that not many MMA fighters use Bruce Lees stance or side kick because it is hard to defend against a take down / easier to get there back!

in a street fight id say bruce lee's jeet kune do was far superior, as thats basically what it was designed for, it wasnt designed to be used in competitions.
but the main reason id say its more useful, is the simplicity of it, no fixed positions or fixed way of doing whatever, you just do whatever needs to be done in the situation.

the way Bruce said it during an interview was great, if someone grabs you from behind, lets say you cant effectively punch or grab him, do the simplest thing, stomp right on his shin, he'll let go! then do whatever it takes.

    be water my friend.....
