Fundamentalism is bad regardless.

Don't we? Obviously people tend to focus on matters with which they are familiar, and not many of the atheists here are from the Middle East. But a lot of the comments I see are directed simply at fundamentalism, or at the religious indoctrination of children, et cetera. There is no basis to infer that those comments are intended to refer to Christians exclusively.
I am not happy about it but I do not have a voice in the middle east.
I have a voice here about US law and how religion interferes.
goop point I think the real issue is fear since Christians aren't known for suicide bombing
First, there is a great difference between brainwashing and teaching.
Second, I am so sure you know that no religion condones killing others sole for the purpose of converting.
To harrisave: Do you really think religion is the cause of all problems. I think it's a part of the problems, but it's not the only thing. If there weren't religions we'd still find things to go to war and disagree about.
There ARE atheists who vocally oppose Islamic fundamentalism. Pat Condell, for instance.

However, keep in mind that atheists in the West typically reside in predominantly Christian areas, so they are naturally going to be more familiar with and more directly affected by Christianity. To ask whether Christianity per se is "worse" than Islam is to completely ignore factors actually relevant to the situation. Also, consider that atheists in some parts of the Middle East risk death by speaking their minds, so it sadly behooves them to be quiet.
@ Stone One:
It's hard to criticize something when you clearly do not even understand what it is.
dont kid yourself....that boy cant be a Christian....we want peace...We hate war..
comparisons waste time.....NOONE WANTS WAR....PLEASE REFRAIN
We don't complain cuz we don't live in the middle east. But that doesn't mean we don't disagree with it.
