a question on bittorrent etiquette?

Hi all,

quick question i've been downloading some things on bittorrent and i would like to know how much and for how long should you seed to repay the favor so to speak.. at the moment i set my upload limit to 10 KB/S for a few days... is this enough the problem i find is that while you seed you get less download band is this the case??

so what is fair on seeding band and time?

Until you're at a 1:1 ratio of data sent vs. data received. Some people even do more.

I usually try to seed up to a ratio of 2, it depends on how large the torrent is though.

I have mine set on about 670 on Soulseek so people can get stuff really fast, like a few minutes.
