    Can i use Canola oil instead of Crisco if the recipe needs me to melt chocolate

    using shortening? and if i cant use canola oil, what else can i use in place of crisco?

    No don't use canola.

    If the choc is supposed to harden up again, NO, do not use canola. It will prevent the choc from hardening at room temp.

    Instead of shortening, you can use butter or lard. Or skip it all together.
